MEET THE STAFF

Veterinarian:  Dr. Rebecca Wingfield, DVM
Rebecca Wingfield is a native of Fayette County and has lived here most of her life, beginning at age four. At age 15 she obtained her first job as a veterinary technician working for Dr. James Davidson. She worked for "Doc" for seven years at Davidson's Clinic. Rebecca attended high school at Laurel Highlands in Uniontown, PA. After graduating high school in 1997, Rebecca's desire and love of animals inspired her to further her education at the Pennsylvania State University and eventually West Virginia University where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in Animal and Veterinary Science. While working on her degree, she went to work for VCA, Castle Shannon in Pittsburgh, PA in 2001. After working on her master's at WVU, Becky went on to The Ohio State University where in 2006 she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 2006 Becky moved south where she spent a year in Wilmington, North Carolina providing care to small animals at a nationally recognized animal hospital.

Dr. Wingfield then moved back to her native Fayette County in July of 2007. She worked for the same nationally recognized hospital in Washington, Pa that she did in North Carolina. She also performed relief work for a local veterinarian. She currently resides in Farmington, Pennsylvania with her husband Jason and two children Charles Cameron (Chuckie) and Halie Grace (Gracie). In her spare time Becky enjoys equestrian events such as the National Pike Wagon Train Festival and spending time with her family.

Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist:  Shari Facchine, MS PT, CCRT
Shari Facchine has been a Physical Therapist for the past 25 years. The last 15 years Facchine has primarily worked with children, birth to three years of age. Shari has a special interest in brain and spinal cord disorders.

In December 2007, Shari’s 10 year old Labrador retriever, Moose, was hit by a car. He suffered 3 broken vertebrae in his back and a severe spinal cord injury. This resulted in paralysis in his rear legs. The recommendation given to Shari was to euthanize Moose. Shari’s extensive experience in the physical therapy field led her to the decision to give Moose a second chance. With aggressive therapy and applied knowledge, Moose is now 13, happy, and active. He is able to walk and he continues to make gains due to his therapy.  While unfortunate, Moose’s accident sparked a great interest and a new beginning for Shari’s career.

In 2008, Shari began attending The Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida. She received her certification as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) in October of 2009. By attending additional trainings, Shari continues to build upon her skills and expand her knowledge in the field of canine rehab.  Pain management, rehabilitation, and improving mobility in senior dogs has become near and dear to Shari.  The overall goal that Shari has established for herself is not only to improve the abilities of every animal that she treats, but to maximize their quality of life.  Working alongside and collaborating with veterinarians and including owners is an essential part of the process. This team approach is key to accomplishing Shari’s ultimate goal.
